What We Learned from John Hughes

I think Ferris Bueller has influenced me the most--for better or worse! That has to be my favorite John Hughes-directed movie. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles might be the funniest though--especially the rental car scene. R.I.P. John Hughes 1950-2009

John Hughes, legendary film producer, director, and writer, died August 6, 2008 of a heart attack. He produced, wrote, and directed a series of classic teen comedies in the 1980s (often working with a group of actors who became known as the "Brat Pack"). Film from this period include The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, Pretty in Pink, and Some Kind of Wonderful. He also wrote, directed, or produced a number of other memorable films such as National Lampoon's Vacation, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Uncle Buck, Mr. Mom, and Home Alone.
